This home is part 2 of a residential sub-division, design and build of two quality homes in Sherwood.

The design emphasis for this house was to re-create a Queenslander home on a small lot, which proved complex given the minimum frontage to Berry Street.  In order to achieve the width in a Queenslander home, the main façade was designed to front the side street, enabling the introduction of gables to low and high-level roofs to be effective.  The garage was moved to the rear of the lot so the front yard could be opened to the beautiful fig trees that are iconic to this street and area.

Inside, careful consideration was put into creating a home more suited for a family with teenagers who require their own space away from the rest of the family.  On the lower level there were 2 living spaces and 2 alfresco areas at different ends of the home, all connected at the hub of the home, the kitchen.  A double car garage with large storage and laundry area rounded this level off.  On the upper level, 2 master retreats were designed with a larger area provided at the back of the property with aspects to the Brisbane River and the smaller area overlooking the fig trees.  In the middle of these areas were another 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and study / lounge area.

Through careful consideration of the surrounding environments and planning a home for separation as well as connection of spaces, this home was sold close to record price for small lot homes in Sherwood at the time of sale.
